1.
Contestant must be a Liberty County girl.
2.
Contestant must be single and have no children.
3.
Contestant can only hold the title once.
4.
Contestant must be passing all courses in school and provide
Academic Eligibility in compliance with UIL rules.
5.
Contestants that spend more than 3 days in ISS or 1 day in AEP
during the time frame of January 26 through May 8th, 2010 will have 50 points
deducted from their score. No
exceptions.
6.
Applications for contestants may be picked up from your
Agricultural Science Teacher or County Extension Agent the second week of
January or call 800-537-4730 ext. 212.
7.
Applications, $100.00 sponsorship money and a “head shot”
photo for the area papers will be turned in on Monday, January 25, 2010 at 6:30
p.m. in the log cabin at Stancil Park in Cleveland.
8.
No money other than sponsorship can be collected until
applications are turned in.
9.
All currency and coins need to be in a cashier’s check when
turned in. ALL CHECKS ARE TO BE MADE
OUT TO CLS&DD or CLEVELAND LIVESTOCK SHOW AND DAIRY DAY.
10.
Each contestant will raise a minimum of $1,000.00 (one
thousand dollars). Each contestant will
be judged on Horsemanship (20 points), Poise and Interview (20 points), Attire
(20 points), and Essay (20 points) with the topic to be given and a total of
(20 Points) for extra money raised. Bonus points can be earned and are listed
at the end of document.
11.
A luncheon will be on April 17, 2010. At this time the contestant will be judged
on Poise and Interview along with Attire, turn in essay, monies raised, thank
you notes and eligibility information.
The attire will be western skirt and blouse or dress worn along with hat
and boots. Judging will start at 11:30 a.m., pictures before or after judging
begins. Lunch will be served at noon.
12.
The money raised is a base of
$1,000.00 dollars for every dollar you earn over that amount you and the
other contestants determine the amount of points to be given to each
contestant. The highest amount raised
will receive 20 points, the second highest 19 points, third highest amount
raised 18 points and so on
13. Each
contestant will participate in rehearsals for horsemanship. There will be three practices and two
different judgings. Practices will be
on February 20 & 27 at 10:00 a.m. and March 27. All practices will be held at Stancil Park. All contestants must attend at least two of
the practices. NO STALLIONS ALLOWED. NO EXCEPTIONS.
14.
You must have a copy of your current negative Coggins to be
turned in at the first horsemanship practice that you attend.
15.
Horsemanship will be judged on Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m.
March 13 and April 24 or May 1 (this date will be decided after further review
of Rodeo and Parade changes) at 10:00
a.m. again at Stancil Park.
16.
The queen will be crowned during the rodeo performance
Saturday night, April 24 or May 1.
17.
During the Friday night rodeo, we will ride in the Grand Entry
(if there is one) and take a lap to be introduced, western apparel must be
worn. Banners must be worn at all
times. On Saturday night, contestants must wear a western jacket, gloves and
hat.
18.
The Dairy Day Queen must be at all appointments on time for
all trophy and ribbon presentations during the week of the Livestock Show. She must have on her banner. Also, all
contestants must be at the Auction on Friday night to help with
the buyers. The Queen and Runner-Ups
will ride in the parade on May 1st. All
participants are encouraged to ride in parade. You must be in line by 9:00 a.m.
You will be responsible for your own transportation during the parade and
preparing and affixing your own signs.
You will also need to attend the Buyer’s Dinner on Monday night, May
3rd. The apparel for the parade and the dinner will be western wear that you
wore during the judging. Remember to wear
you banners.
19.
Contestants that DO NOT
appear at all the functions the week
of Dairy Day will forfeit all
titles, prizes, scholarships, etc.
Official and final placing will be announced at the auction on Friday
night, May 7, 2010. Example, you will
need to be at the parade, buyers dinner, auction and anything in between that
is required by the committee during the week of May 3rd through May
8th. Queen committee will
determine if your absence is excused.
All decisions are final.
20.
Split reins are required; spurs and tie-downs are optional.
21.
Judges decisions are final.
22.
The committee reserves to right to amend these rules at any
time with out further notice.
23.
Failure to comply with
rules following the crowning will result in ineligibility to participate for
the following year and forfeiture of all titles, prizes, scholarships, etc.
24.
Prizes: (depending on
number of entries)
Queen will receive a scholarship,
crown, flowers and buckle.
1st Runner up will
receive a scholarship, flowers and buckle.
2nd Runner up will
receive flowers and a buckle.
3rd Runner up will
receive flowers and a buckle.
Horsemanship will receive flowers
and a gift.
Best Essay will receive flowers
and a gift.
Congeniality
will receive flowers and a gift (if applicable).
The Queen and 1st
Runner up must apply for Scholarship funds within two years of graduation of
high school. If you attend a college or
university the scholarship will be paid in $1,000 amounts per semester for
Queen and $500.00 amounts for 1st Runner up. If you attend a trade school or junior
college the scholarship will be paid in $500.00 amounts per semester.
The Queen and 1st
Runner up will need to provide:
1.
A copy of your registration form or a letter from your school
stating your enrollment.
2.
Your social security number.
3.
Complete name.
4.
Your school’s name, address and accounting department head.
Scholarships can be issued after
July 15th with above information.
All funds will be mailed to the school; no amounts will be given to the
student. A semester will be fall
classes or spring classes, no summer semesters.

***Additional Bonus Points will be given for participation
for FFA or 4-H. You will receive
one-half (1/2) extra point for every

***Pre-Sale Rodeo tickets. $5.00 each, for each 50 tickets
you sell you will receive ½ bonus point.
