1. This contest is open to all active FFA and 4-H members in
Texas. In accordance with the state
guidelines, Jr. FFA members will not be allowed to judge.
2. This will be a one, two, three, four, judging or placing
contest. There will be four animals in each
class and team members will be required to place the four animals.
3. A team will be composed of three or four members, either
girls or boys. The top three scores
from each team will be totaled for the team score. The fourth member’s score will be utilized only when necessary to
break a tie between two or more teams.
4. The 4-H and FFA teams will compete independently of each
other. Awards will be presented in each
category. A plaque will be awarded to
the first place team in each category.
Plaques will be presented to the second and third place teams. The three highest scoring individuals will
also receive appropriate plaques.
5. All boys and girls entering the contest together with
their Agricultural Science instructor or County Extension Agent will meet with
the contest chairman at specified time on Schedule of Events, in the covered
stands in the rodeo arena to register for the contest.
6. There will be an entry fee of $25.00 per team. Team entries must be sent to the Cleveland
Livestock Show, P.O. Box 697, Cleveland, Texas 77328, but specified time on
Schedule of Important Dates and Deadlines.
Late entries will be charged $40.00 per team and will only be accepted
the day of contest. Extra tickets for BBQ plates will be available for $5.00 each, for coaches.
7. Judging classes will consist of two (2) classes of swine,
five (5) classes of beef, and one (1) class of lambs. Results and awards will be presented in the Swine Arena at 1:30
p.m. The official placing will be
presented in the arena immediately following the judging.

Catalog #0440). Cleveland Livestock
Show will provide Scranton.
