1. This division is subject to the general rules and
regulations and to these division rules.
A pen will consist of three broilers.
Each bird will be sifted at the time of check-in by a sift judge or a
person designated by the broiler committee.
2. Broiler orders and entry fees must be submitted to the
Broiler committee at time specified on Important Dates and Deadlines. Price of bird will be according to
availability but no more than $1.25 per bird.
A $20.00 entry fee per exhibitor must accompany the order. The appropriate County Extension Agent,
Agriculture Science teacher, or adult 4-H leader may place order and pay entry
fee for any exhibitor who can not be present at time of ordering. No late orders will be accepted. Every 4-H and FFA member who wants to show
market broilers must order chicks in his or her name. Exhibitors will not be allowed to purchase chicks from another
member after they have been ordered.
3. Exhibitors will be notified by letter of the time and
date for broiler delivery; broilers to be picked up at Stancil Park. There will be a minimum of 25 chicks per
order. A representative of the
exhibitor or the exhibitor will be responsible for listing the band number on
each chick. They will then sign and return
the list to the chairman at the time of delivery.
4. On the day of check-in at the show, band numbers will be
checked with the list the exhibitor signed.
Wrong numbers will be cause for sifting. All birds must have bands in wings.
5. Any substitution of broilers (use of alternate) must be
done before check-in. The first three
broilers handed to the sift judge (or in the case of no sift judge, the
committee chairman or designated person) are the broilers entered and no
substitutions will be allowed after check-in.
6. Each exhibitor will be limited to one pen in the show and
sale.
7. Broilers sold through the auction must be dressed by the
seller and delivered to the buyer within 10 days.
8. Fifty percent (50%) of the number of pens checked in at
show time or a maximum of ten (10) pens will be sold at the Youth Auction and
will receive placing ribbons.
9. Non-sale broilers will be released after judging and must
be removed by time specified on Schedule of Events.
10. All exhibitors must be present at the time of
judging. No substitution of exhibitors
will be allowed unless approved by the Hardship Committee.
11. Judging area will be closed off during the judging.
12. All exhibitors in the same family unit may enter
broilers as a family unit group. Then
an exhibitor may show any three of the broilers that were banded in his/her
family unit group. An exhibitor must
abide by all other rules to be eligible to show.

unapproved/unlabeled medication – will forfeit all privileges, awards, premiums
won and will be barred from exhibiting at further Cleveland Livestock
